After a phenomenal evening with Juan Amador, www.restaurant-amador.de, we felt happy in Dreieichenhain, www.dreieich.de, to bed and had beautiful dreams about the evening and the first-class Dinner with Master Chef Juan.
On the next morning we wanted to explore Dreieichenhain, which is only 3,5 miles away from his restaurant. We went loose and discovered an idyll no 15 miles away of the main station in Frankfurt!
Let us begin with the castle ruin of Dreieichenhain of the castle Hayn from the 11th Century of the family of Hagen-Münzberg who administered the imperial forest of Widbannforst.
In front of the castle you find a beautiful small pond and behind it a jewel of half timbered houses.
In the year 2006 the municipal celebrated 750 years rights to be a city. Today Dreieichenhain particularly is famous for the Haaner Kerb (Kirchweihfest) at Whitsuntide admits and organizes a Christmas market, which possesses German wide reputation owing to Dreieichenhains cause of the beautiful old part of town.
The Haaner Kerb is the largest Kirchweihfest of south Hessen and tightens annually over 80.000 visitors. The culminating points are the fireworks on Saturday evening and the traditional Kerbborschemarsch on Monday. Furthermore the castle festivals, the Hayner castle celebration and the jazz in the castle events are organized annually in Dreieichenhain.
The castle Hayn is a high-medieval castle ruin. The oldest part of the castle plant, which was developed in Salischer time, is still a main attraction. It is one of the few everyday architecture certifications of the Salier time in Germany.
With a visit in Frankfurt/Main you should absolutely find the time to look into Dreieichenhains past.
